The Castlewood Country Club and its members value local community involvement and are actively contributing in numerous ways.
Golf has a long-standing history of giving back to communities, with billions of dollars raised annually for charities, as well as promoting positive values of integrity, respect, and perseverance. Castlewood Country Club is proud to be part of this long tradition.
TRI VALLEY HAVEN
Members of Castlewood Country Club have held a an annual Food Drive for more than 20 years. In 2015, Castlewood collected more than $8,000 and three truck loads of food which helped feed over 900 families that month. Now entering its fourth decade, Tri-Valley Haven continues to be a vital community resource serving adults and children who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, or homelessness.
Breast Cancer: HERS Foundation, Susan Komen Foundation
Castlewood’s women’s golf and tennis clubs hold annual fundraiser tournaments, raising over $20,000 in 2011 for organizations supporting breast cancer research, awareness, treatments and post surgical support.
Foothill High School Boys & Girls Golf Teams
Castlewood provides the Hill Course at no charge for practice and matches. Estimated value: $7,000 per year.
Junior Merit Program
Castlewood provides this program to up to 12 junior golfers at a minimal fee of $50 initiation, plus $10 per month.
Rounds of Golf for Charity
We donate over 50 foursomes each year to worthy causes. Estimated value: $15,200.
Castlewood Staff Provide Their Time and Expertise for Charity
Golf Pro’s on staff provide 20 golf lessons each per year. Castlewood's Chef donates over 40 hours of time to local fundraisers benefiting Open Heart Kitchen, Taylor Family Foundation and breast cancer foundations.
AJGA & JGANC Tournaments
Castlewood hosts junior golf tournaments with little income to the Club. The American Junior Golf Association is a non profit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The Junior Golf Association of Northern California is a non-profit organization which offers a variety of fun, competitive and affordable junior golf tournaments for boys and girls ages 7 to 17.
Castlewood Members make donations through the Club to support the NCGA Foundation helping them to make golf more affordable to all deserving youth and using golf to help build strong values and life skills.
Multiple Fundraising Events Held at Castlewood
Tri-Valley Animal Shelter, school fundraisers, Valley Care Hospital, Boys and Girls Club, Young Life, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Special Olympics, Contractors 4 Kids, City of Hope, First Tee of the Tri-Valley.
Donations of gifts and cash from our Women’s 18 Hole golf group will be given to abused children and parents in special homes in our area. Christmas Angel organizer: Member Ruth Concannon.
